One Man Band | Original Painting on Canvas | 36" x 24" x 1.5"
This is a painting was heavily inspired by some of Colin Stetson’s saxophone music, especially the ones used in the horror movie Hereditary. In addition to this the one man band reference is an expression of the feeling we get when we are put into situations where we are forced to succeed with or without the help of others. The brass instruments have a significance on their own in that they are generally used to herald triumph, but in this case the “victory” is unfulfilling and hollow. There is a lot more meaning I could put into this special piece but I am a strong proponent of the idea that interpretation is unique to the viewer. I would recommend not placing in direct sunlight, and avoid touching the front of the artwork as the musou black is very dark and easily picks up fingerprints. If you have any questions please reach out on the contact form.
