About Tom
Tom was born in Alberta, Canada and has moved around several times in his life. He currently resides in the Denver area of Colorado. He has a background in industrial design from Virginia Tech, and attributes the sharp linework in his paintings to the time he spent learning to hand render products with alcohol markers. The majority of his work is inspired by thoughts he has in the realm between awake and sleeping. Together they visualize the story of his subconscious mind and experiences through the years in representational way. His preferred medium is acrylic gouache due to its velvety appearance and opacity that helps it to pop off of the dark backgrounds in his work. He has been painting since 2019, and has recently begun taking art classes at a local gallery to improve upon his work. Tom is an avid reader of books on subjects such as artists, artwork, and artistic composition. He is actively working to build relationships with art advisors, collectors, and gallery curators. Do not hesitate to reach out on the contact form if you are interested in working with him or discussing his work in detail.
